Exploring New Worlds (53 minutes) – As they’ve done with the other CBS Trek seasons, this feature documents the making of the season. Writers, producers, directors, and cast are interviewed about the making of the 10 episodes. Deleted Scenes For those of you aiming a bit higher, however, the season will make its debut on 4K UHD Blu-ray this May, with a limited-edition Steelbook release featuring the show in its best overall presentation format yet. The 4K edition will include all the same bonus features found on the Blu-ray release, along with high-quality include Dolby Vision dynamic HDR coloring. Overall, "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" is an excellent addition to the Star Trek franchise, delivering exciting action, thought-provoking ideas, and emotionally charged character development. It's a must-watch for any Star Trek fan and a great starting point for those new to the franchise. World Building (12 minutes) – Anson Mount gives us a tour of the AR volume, currently set up as the hostile snowy planet from episode 109. Production Designer Jonathan Lee discusses designing for the AR wall. Through interviews with producers, cast, and crew, fans will learn about the expertise involved in the development process and how the powerful technology was seamlessly integrated into the show. Bonus: TOS “Balance of Terror”– In a surprise bonus (as it wasn’t listed on any press release), CBS has included the 2006 remastered version of the classic Star Trek episode “Balance of Terror.” This is a fitting extra, of course, as episode 110 (“A Quality of Mercy”) relies heavily on the events and even dialogue from the original episode.

Strange New Worlds – When one of Pike’s officers goes missing while on a secret mission for Starfleet, Pike has to come out of self-imposed exile; he must navigate how to rescue his officer while struggling with what to do with the vision of the future he’s been given. I hope I didn’t sound unkind or unsympathetic speaking about my parent’s experience. I’ve been going through a period of reflection on their career as I move on in my own. If Discovery wasn’t a massive hit that it was for Paramount we wouldn’t have all this new shows(and more coming) including SNW which is also a massive hit for Paramount. Yes Discovery has it’s haters and sections of the fandom who just don’t like the style of the show but there are fans who do that for all Trek shows that is nothing new. PIKE’S PEAK — Anson Mount takes fans through his journey as Captain Christopher Pike in the first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, providing a glimpse into his portrayal with intimate footage throughout the season.Hemmer and Uhura down in Peregrine’s engineering see a baby Gorn feeding on entrails, who turns towards them and Hemmer takes the venom that was heading for Uhura. Exploring New Worlds– Fans will explore the storylines and characters that bring Star Trek: Strange New Worlds to life with writers, cast and crew. What he’s quoting is likely true. I can tell you from decades of cinematography experience is that something being shot on 35mm film doesn’t necessarily immediately translate to a possible quality “4k resolution”. The Serene Squall – While on a dangerous humanitarian mission, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise stumbles into a harrowing game of leverage with the quadrant’s deadliest space pirate. I find it’s difficult to see it as a tenable economic model. It seems to have been built into audiovisual entertainment and broadcasting from go through. The market power of the major firms seems to enable perpetual free riding off individuals.

Compared to a regular high-definition presentation on Paramount+, the Blu-ray release of Strange New Worlds is going to be your best way to get the best visual experience watching the series, from the exploratory opening title sequence to the many space adventures Captain Pike’s crew experienced over the ten-episode season. Deleted Scenes– A few minutes’ worth from episodes “Ghosts of Illyria” and “Children of the Comet.” The Deleted Scenes (18:50) were a mixed bag. The cuts from “Children of the Comet” and “The Elysian Kingdom” (less than 45 seconds total between each episode), as they added very little to the plot and pacing of the episodes. The two cuts from “Ghosts of Illyria” (about two minutes in total) were hit and miss; the first includes a conversation between Ensign Lance and Una, where Lance’s own general mistrust of augments appears as a foil to Pike and Una’s more tolerant tone. The second — a sequence involving Uhura’s bunkmates — was a worthwhile cut.

While I completely agree kmart with your view stated elsewhere that great moments and performances can’t save a plot that doesn’t land, I also feel that tentpole movies should offer something fresh.

Coming May 16, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 1 will be arriving in a special 4K Blu-ray Steelbook edition, which will contain all 10 episodes of 2022’s adventures in the Ultra HD format. The 4K Steelbook will not contain standard Blu-ray discs, so if you’re looking to acquire both formats, you’ll need to shop twice.I’m also regretting the amount of unattributed work they did before contracts gave us the walls of credits. As we know from the intensive historical digging on Star Trek, not everything was attributed and it was a pervasive phenomenon.
