About this deal

We can’t talk too much about future product plans,” says Schielke, “but more colors are certainly an option. When you hit a chip or a pitch, you can see your ball spinning in the air which can feel satisfying and pleasing during your round.

SRIXON 2023 Q STAR TOUR DIVIDE GOLF BALLS – ORANGE / YELLOW

The newest ball in Srixon’s Z-Star series, the three-piece Diamond is played by Brooks Koepka, and combines the best of Z-Star and XV. And yes, I had a Member’s Only jacket, wore a Swatch watch, and also had a Bomber’s Jacket from Britches Great Outdoors. But by about the fifth hole, you tend to just forget about the aesthetics and instead focus on your shots. The last thing I need is a ball that adds to the distraction factor- I would not even retrieve this thing from the woods for my shag bag. The colours could be just too bright and too contrastingto apply your full concentration throughout the round, which isn't beneficial in competitive conditions. The Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE features a new thermoplastic urethane cover that has been infused with bright pigments rather than being painted on. There are so many distractions, such as my list of 12 swing thoughts that I intend to whittle down to 10 this spring. We wanted to do something that would stand out from a color perspective but also give golfers the added performance benefits of a urethane ball.

To many players who go on to try this golf ball out on the course, you will find that it may put you off for the first few holes as your eyes adjust to the colours. The Z-Star Divide comes with a 3-piece construction that features a 92 compression FastLayer DG core that gets progressively firmer as you move from the centre to the outer layers. The two colour design creates multiple options for aligning the ball towards the target or parallel to the club face. Srixon’s only four-piece ball, the XV was updated in 2021 with everything from its molecules to its dimples pushed to the limit. On other tee shots I would line the divide parallel to the face as irons have a shallower, cleaner top line than things like putters that can have long alignment lines. As for the white/yellow of Z-Star, meh…I think it would’ve done better with yellow/orange, but maybe Srixon wants to keep the Z-Star and Q-Star distinctly different? The issue here is are the golf balls balanced for a predictable roll and spin followed around the line between the colours or not?
